back to school. take 2.

Clay went to school on Thursday.  I cannot even tell you how excited he was to finally go.  He watched his brother and sister go to school, and was very sad to not spend the day with them.  He did not make the last few weeks easy on me, he wanted me to entertain him while he was the only one at home.  The one thing that was really good about him being home with me without distraction, was that he finally conquered the potty.  After 7.5 years of buying diapers, I can finally say that we no longer have any diaper wearers in our house.  Woo-hoo!  He is getting so big.

We stopped by the bagel store on the way to get his teacher a dozen bagels.  She mentioned that she loved them, and well, we wanted to butter her up a bit.  But there was no need.  He had an awesome first day.  He sat in the circle, played nicely with the other children, ate all of his lunch, used the potty without incident, and came home with some new paintings for the fridge.  All in all, he could not have had a better day.

We had round 2 of the back to school dinner.  He got his own little cake.  “I wuv this baby cake.”  He makes me laugh.

sarah dobbins - Bree, I’m so jealous about no more diapers. I might actually throw myself a party when I reach that milestone! Congrats to your sweet little family on a successful return to school! By the way, you really inspire me to take more photos of my family. I’ve gotten out of the habit, and you are so helpful at reminding me to get back in the habit!
